Enneagram types

The Enneagram consists of nine distinct Enneagram Types, with each type embodying a unique worldview and archetype that aligns with how individuals think, feel, and interact with the world, others, and themselves. It goes beyond merely outlining traits or behaviors; it explores the underlying motivations, defenses, and fears that often reside in the unconscious aspects of our personality.

Type 1:

Strict Perfectionist

Enneagram Ones value principles and integrity, striving for perfection and self-control. They appreciate standards and structure. At their best, they exhibit tolerance, self-acceptance, and serenity. Conversely, when unhealthy, they may become judgmental, uncompromising, and overly critical of themselves and others.

Understanding the 3 centers of The Enneagram

The Enneagram identifies three primary centres through which we process the world:

Thinking, Feeling, and Action. These centres represent the core ways we perceive and respond to life’s challenges, relationships, and opportunities. Understanding your dominant center helps you navigate personal growth with greater clarity and intention.

Woman Having Coffee

Thinking Center
(Types 5, 6, 7)

The Thinking Center focuses on clarity, security, and mental processing. Individuals dominant in this center tend to rely on their thoughts to make sense of the world and seek certainty in their decision-making. Their core desire is to feel secure, informed, and in control of their environment.

Love

Feeling Center
(Types 2, 3, 4)

The Feeling Center governs emotional connection, relationships, and self-worth. People in this center experience life primarily through their emotions, often measuring their worth by how connected or valued they feel in relationships.

Meditating in Park

Action Center
(Types 8, 9, 1)

The Action Center is about control, autonomy, and movement. Individuals in this center prioritise taking action, whether that means controlling their environment, maintaining peace, or striving for improvement.
